Mauritius: The public declining at the end of 2014 compared to the GDP




According to latest figures recently released by the Ministry of Finance in Mauritius, the public debt is close to at the end of the year 2014 * 215 billion rupees.

The government's public debt thus amounted to more than 206 billion rupees, while at the same time the public enterprise debt rose on its side to 8 billion rupees. In December 2014, the public debt was estimated at 53.9% of GDP, a registered decrease of 2.2% compared to September of last year.
 
The Mauritian authorities thus aims to reduce the burden of public debt within three years to about 50% of gross domestic product.
