Mauritius: The official body, Statistics Mauritius confirms its growth forecast at 3.5% for the Mauritian economy




 
 
The official statistics office, Statistics Mauritius, recently confirmed its forecast of a growth of 3.5% for the Mauritian economy in 2014, as stated in the Le Matinal newspaper.
 
As a reminder, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Mauritius (MCCI) was also expecting last May a similar growth rate of around almost 3.4% this year and inflation is expected to reach 4% in end of 2014 against 3.5% last year.
 
In April, the Mauritius Commercial Bank, for its part expected a lower growth rate of 3.3%.
 
For its part, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) was considering to reverse in mid-April 1 3.7% growth of the Mauritian economy for the year 2014, which should be around 4.2% in horizon in 2016.
