Mauritius: The new minister of finance, Vishnu Lutchmeenaraidoo wants to create a nation of entrepreneurs




The new Minister of finance of Mauritius, Vishnu Lutchmeenaraidoo, submits for the approval of the members the first budget of the mandate of the Le Peuple Alliance (1) at the beginning of March 2015.
 
The first budgetary discussions for finalising the budget will be held next January.
 
The new Mauritian Minister of finance recently underlined that government income in the amount of 10 billion rupees (2) will be allocated to the project "Mauritius Nation of Entrepreneurs" and wants to make entrepreneurship among young people a priority for the new government in power since the parliamentary elections of 10 December.
 
As a reminder, at the end of 2013, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Mauritian economy were totaling 255,000 employees. These SMEs contributing to GDP by 40%.
