The organisation managing institutions of gambling in Mauritius (Gambling Regulatory Authority) has registered in 2012 an increase of 55.8% on the revenues of the fee from the previous year, as indicated in the last report of annual activity which the audit took place in 2013.
The Gambling Regulatory Authority thus collected 349 million rupees * in licence fees for the year 2012 against 224 million rupees in 2011.
Achieved profits come mostly from "gaming machines" which were drained in their wake in 2012 some 216 million rupees, as reported in the Le Défi Quotidien newspaper.
For the year 2013 and 2014, licence fees should report into the coffers of the State approximately 342 million rupees and also bring in terms of taxation 2 billion rupees in 2013 and 2.2 billion rupees in 2014.
