Mauritius: The former Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam, arrested again




The former Prime Minister of Mauritius, Navin Ramgoolamhas once again been arrested on Wednesday morning. The police want to question him concerning his role in the Frydu case.
 
An agreement between the Duty Free shop established in the middle of the international airport of Plaisance and a Swiss company, Frydu, leading provider of the Duty Free Store, of which Nandanee Soornack would be the main shareholder, would have enabled the latter to pocket 100 million rupees *, through the collection of a slightly more than 4% commissions on all sales made in the Mauritius Duty Free Paradise (MDFP) in just over three years.
 
Nandanee Soornack, former intimate friend of Navin Ramgoolam, is still on her side in await extradition towards Mauritius after having precipitately left the country for Italy on 11 December 2014 in the wake of the announcement of the last legislative elections.
