Mauritius: The anti-drug brigade has seized up to 781 million rupees of market value heroin over five years




Over the past five years, 12,411 cases related to narcotics have been treated by the departments of the anti-drug brigade Mauritius - ADSU (1).
 
According to figures, heroin is the most common drugs in the local market and is most frequently seized during the ADSU police operations. The specialized unit struggle against drug trafficking in Mauritius has put its hand since 2010 on 781 million rupees (2) market value of heroin.
 
Cannabis seized during this period has reached on its side to 217 million rupees and market value of about 100 million rupees for Subutex, considered by Mauritius law as a hard drug.
