Mauritius: The Twelve presumed Somali pirates detained in the prison of Melrose

After the charges leveled against the twelve suspected Somali pirates have been cleared away yesterday in court Thursday, 6 November due to insufficient evidence against them to prove their guilt, the Director of Public Prosecutions (Editor's note: The equivalent of the Prosecutor), will appeal the decision of the intermediate court.

As a result, the twelve Somalian pirates are held in detention at the prison of Melrose, in the center of Mauritius, until further notice, as reported by the newspaper L'Express of Mauritius.

As a reminder, the suspected Somalian pirates, aged between 22 and 38, were arrested on January 5, 2013, off the coast of Somalia, by the European Union Naval Force while they were according to the prosecution to attack a merchant ship.
