Mauritius: The Tourist Office in Mauritius targets a Chinese market in full swing




Mauritius hosted, according to the latest official figures from the agency Statistics Mauritius, 55,307 Chinese travellers from January to October 2014 against 34,286 during the same calendar period in 2013, an increase of 61.3%.
 
An overall growth of about 60% and is expected for 2014 by the Mauritian tourism authorities.
 
In addition, the Mauritius Office of Tourism (MTPA) participated in the China International Travel Market (CITM), which was recently held from 14 to 16 November 2014 on the side of Shanghai.
 
The MTPA aims especially on the golf, kitesurfing, honeymoons, the white sand beaches as well as water activities to attract more Chinese travellers to visit Mauritius.
