The Mauritian group Rose Belle Sugar Estate and its local subsidiary, Vita Rice Limited want to share their rice production beyond the local market. Singapore, Southeast Asia and the European Union are therefore privileged with new export markets to be conquered in the next months.

The Mauritian Vita Rice trademark in 2015 should produce more than 1,600 tons of rice in comparison with 1,200 tons achieved last year. Growing area will also be increased from 304 hectares in 2013 to about 425 hectares planted this year.

As a reminder, this Asian-based rice seed does not need to be planted at the heart of waterlogged soil to reach maturity.
