Mauritius: The Mauritian national company of electricity CEB considering to become a supplier of internet access

The management of the Mauritian national company of electricity (CEB) is currently working to enable the company to become a public Internet service provider.
 
A study is thus in progress to check the feasibility of the project which will cover the whole island, with lower tariffs announced in Mauritius.
 
The Mauritian national company of electricity should use its fiber optic network present on its high voltage lines to deploy the internet connection in Mauritian homes. This optical fiber network is in fact for the time used for particularly telemetry and remote monitoring.
