Mauritius: Several cases of gastroenteritis reported in the area of Port-Louis




According to the Ministry of Health of Mauritius, several cases of gastroenteritis were reported in the region of Port-Louis in recent days, as reported by the Le Défi Quotidien newspaper.
 
A sanitary survey is ongoing to determine the exact source of the infection.
 
The Ministry department is asking the public to boil water ten minutes before consuming, wash hands with water and soap for 20 seconds before eating, cooking and after using the toilet as well as also before and after changing a diaper.
 
It is recommended to wash fruits and vegetables before consumption.
 
As a reminder, the symptoms of gastroenteritis are the most frequently observed by, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, abdominal pain and cramping.
