Mauritius: SEMDEX and indexes SEMTRI still on the rise in the stock market
Trading activity in Mauritius still shows growth in the wake of the increase of its two benchmark indices of the official market, SEMDEX (1) and SEMTRI (2).
 
At the closure of the market Tuesday, September 9, 2014, SEMDEX index reached 2115,79 points while i was 2111,06 points a week earlier.
 
Meanwhile, the SEMTRI index closed at 6865,73 points, up over 27,47 points. The market capitalisation of the official market was valued at the end of session to 232.64 billion rupees (3).
 
Stock trading totaled some 314.8 million rupees in a week on the official market. On 49 securities, 16 titles grew in a week, 20 tracks have maintained their position and 13 tracks have posted a decline, as reported by the newspaper L'Express of Mauritius.
 
As a reminder, the SEMDEX of the Mauritius stock exchange index jumped 21% in 2013.

(2) index SEMTRI (Stock Exchange of Mauritius Total Return Index), created in October 2002 incorporates the performance of the overall market with dividends and capital gains
(3) one euro roughly equivalent to 41 rupees
