Mauritius: Rupee depreciates against the euro and the sterling pound in one year




The Mauritian rupee has lost its value between May 2013 and May 2014 against the euro (3.6%) and the pound sterling (-1.6%) according to the latest figures from the Bank of Mauritius.
 
Moreover, the Mauritian rupee has appreciated at the same time against the US dollar (1.1%)
 
The euro thus is exchanged at 40.23 rupees last year in May against 41.75 rupees on the same calendar period in 2014.
 
The pound sterling was worth 49 rupees in May 2013 against 49,79 rupees a year later while the dollar was valued at 31.24 rupees in May 2013 against 30.91 in May 2014, as reported by the Le Défi Quotidien newspaper.
