The Mauritian Rose Belle Sugar Estate group in collaboration with a Singaporean company and its local subsidiary Vita Rice Limited, further develop its rice crops in Mauritius for a better introduction to the local market as well as for export.

Planted on nearly 330 hectares at Rose Belle in the South of Mauritius, this rice less caloric in sugar with a low glucose - suitable for diabetics - should soon see its area increased by 170 hectares/

Planters who have abandoned their fields of sugar cane are also already encouraged to invest in a program to reach 2,000 hectares of rice grown in Mauritius, as reported by the newspaper Le Matinal.

As a reminder, this rice to Asian seed database did not need to be planted in the heart of waterlogged soils to mature.
