Mauritius: Port-Louis is the 33rd city the most expensive in Africa for expatriates




The city of Port-Louis became the 209th most expensive city in the world for the year 2014 for expats.
 
It is revealed in the classification of the International Cost of Living Survey of the Institute Employment Conditions Abroad (ECA), which recently released its latest survey on the cost of living in the four corners of the planet.
 
The city of Port Louis thus goes back to over 13 places and now ranks 33rd on the African continent, but far behind the capital of Angola, Luanda, which is leading to the ranking of the most expensive cities Africa.
 
Carried out on an average basket of consumer goods and where services consumed by expatriates are taken into account, the study seeks to analyze closer the price changes.
 
Carried out according to a medium basket where goods of consumption and services consumed by expatriates are taken into account, the study seeks to analyse more closely the evolution of prices.
 
The data collected allows professional human resources of international companies to assess the amount of the premiums on the cost of the life granted to their expatriates, as reported by the newspaper L'Express of Mauritius.
