Mauritius: Over 3.200 families were able to obtain a social housing since 2011
The minister of Social Integration, Suren Sayal, has reported in late last week during the delivery of social housing to some fifty people beneficing of social minima that the Mauritian authorities has allowed since 2011 to 3.233 families to become home owners in Mauritius and Rodrigues.
 
Since the beginning of 2014, it is thus 208 families which were able to obtain the keys of their new house, as reported by the Le Matinal newspaper.
 
As a reminder, to be eligible to the Social construction program in Mauritius, couples having a monthly revenue between 10.000 and 20.000 must not already be owners of a property on the island and deposit a sum equivalent to 10% of the final price of the house.
