Five new sites for aquaculture purposes have recently been chosen by the Mauritian authorities as a fishing cooperative management method. Floating cages will be placed at sea on the side of Grande Gaube, Poudre d'Or, Grand River South East, Quatre Soeurs and Bamboo-Virieux.

The breeding will thus concern shoemaker spinefoot and mouth pave fishes. Fishes from these farms will reach after 6 months of living 500 grams and will be integrated in the marketing chain and supply local markets.
