Mauritius: Increased in tourists arrivals by 8.3% in June 2015




The last tourist arrivals in Mauritius, for May, have increased by 10.8% with around 87,067 travelers, while for the month of June a further increase; with 8.3% growth compared to June 2014 can be noted.
 
65,459 tourists have landed on the island in June 2015 against 60,445 the year before. The French visitors were 7930 (+ 5.5%). 5361 Reunion travelers (-18.6%) also visited the “île soeur” island. For the first six months of 2015, 123,350 visitors from the Hexagon France (+ 3.8%) and Reunion 67,434 tourists (-1.4%) arrived in Mauritius.
 
Chinese visitors also about 7,958 travelers were to spend a holiday in Mauritius in June 2015, an increase of 60% in tourist arrivals compared to June 2014. From January to June, 42,108 Chinese travelers were counted (+ 31.8%).
 
The Indian market is also growing with 9,061 visitors registered in June 2015 (+ 17.5%). 40,720 tourists from Great Peninsula were recorded in January and June 2015 (+ 22.8%).
 
It is to be noted that 1,038,968 tourists came to Mauritius last year, an increase of 4.6% compared to tourist arrivals recorded in 2013 and 993,106 tourists listed.
