Mauritius: Increase of 10.8% in tourist arrivals in May 2015




While in April tourist arrivals in Mauritius have rose by 2.2% with 90,327 travelers enumerated, the month of May recorded a further increase with 10.8% of growth compared to May 2014.
 
87,067 tourists have thus landed on the island in May 2015 against 78,555 one year earlier. French visitors were 15,862 (+ 11%) and German travelers increased by more than 40% with 5,877 registered tourists. 15374 Reunionese travelers (+ 2.5%) went to the sister island.
 
Chinese visitors were also 6,052 travelers to come and spend holidays in Mauritius in May 2015, representing an increase of 30.2% in comparison with tourist arrivals in May 2014.
 
As a reminder, 1,038,968 tourists walked on the Mauritian soil last year, an increase of 4.6% compared to tourist arrivals registered in 2013 and its 993,106 tourists listed.
