Mauritius: Growth of 7.6% of tourist arrivals on the island in January 2015




103,606 tourists arrived in Mauritius on vacation in January 2015. They were 96 332 one year earlier, an increase of 7.6%, including a European market growth of 11.9% and 56,563 European travelers counted.
 
British travelers (7904 arrivals) thus rose by 26% while visitors from metropolitan France increased by 5.3%, with 25,572 registered travelers. For their part, the Reunionese tourists were 21,611 visitors to travel to the sister island during this period.
 
In addition, 4,924 Chinese tourists traveled to Mauritius early this year, a sharp decline of 26.6%, while South African visitors recorded growth of 39.3% with 8,578 arrivals.
 
As a reminder, 1,038,968 tourists landed in Mauritius last year, an increase of 4.6% in comparison with tourist arrivals recorded in 2013 and its 993,106 tourists recorded.
