Mauritius: Economic growth of 6% on the horizon of 2016




While the official agency Statistics Mauritius was expecting a few days ago on an economic growth of around 4.1% in 2015, the Mauritius Commercial Bank (MCB) believes its side that the Mauritian economy is expected to increase this year by 3 9%, in that way exceeding the 3.5% of growth recorded last year.
 
According to some financial experts group from the group MCB, economic growth in Mauritius could approach 6% by the year 2016.
 
As a reminder, the Mauritian Minister of Finance, Vishnu Lutchmeenaraidoohad presented the in late March 2015 the budget for 18 months of the year. The Mauritian authorities have aimed for a 5.3% growth of the economy by 30 June 2016. And this growth should reach 5.7% for the 2016-2017 period and bring back the Mauritian economy to a comparable growth to that prior to the global financial crisis.
