Mauritius: Decrease in tourism revenues in February 2015 despite a significant increase in arrivals




Tourism revenues in Mauritius experienced a decline for the month of February 2015 where the sector of activity has earned 3.5 billion rupees * against 3.8 billion rupees one year earlier.
 
91,128 tourists had nevertheless disembarked in Mauritius on holiday in February 2015 while they were 78,984 in February 2014, representing an increase of 15.4%. The European market has drained in its wake by itself 56,770 passengers up by 10.6%.
 
As a reminder, in late March the Mauritian authorities aimed 1.1 million tourists in 2015 on the island. Tourist sector revenues could reach, according to forecasts, up to 48.5 billion rupees in 2015.
