Mauritius: Automatic radar back to service




While 80 people died on the roads of Mauritius since the beginning of 2015, the fifty speed cameras which were stopped since 1 January should resume service and flash vehicles which are speeding again from next week.
 
Warning signs are placed 200 meters before radar and the markings indicate to motorists the presence of speed control devices.
 
Repainted in yellow, retro - reflective safety cameras will be particularly visible to drivers even at night.
 
It is to be remembered that 38,476 motorists were caught with excess speed in 2014 on the roads of the island. Fines which were reported brought to the State of Mauritius some 76.95 million rupees (1.97 million euros).
