New air routes from Austria and Germany are programmed for the servicing of the international airport of Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam in Plaisance.
Thus as from October, Austrian Airlines will perform two weekly flights to the island. The German airline, Lufthansa, also will also connect Mauritius with one scheduled flight per week.

For its part, the German low-cost airline, Condor Airways, which depends on the tour operator Thomas Cook, will also operate the fifth weekly flight starting in the mid of this year to better serve the destination.

The Minister for Tourism Xavier-Luc Duval has thus welcomed during the last international tourism exhibition ITB Berlin (4-8 March 2015) of these air links which attest according to him "that people enjoy especially the diversity product Mauritius ".
