A 80th confirmed case of dengue since March has been identified at the end of last week in Mauritius. A resident of Black River in the southwest of the country is thus treated for the infectious disease in a private clinic in Mauritius.

According to health authorities of the country, the disease is under control with the application of insecticides for several weeks in the areas at risk seeking to destroy larval habitats.

The proliferation of Ades albopictus mosquito vector of disease should thus be contained in the weeks ahead as Mauritius is back one level in the period of the austral winter.
