Mauritius: 9.28 million rupees disbursed for vaccinations against flu




While the austral summer is about to end, the medical authorities of the island anticipate the arrival of winter in the tropics in the wake of the influenza virus which could cause coughing of thousands of Mauritians again this year.
 
Particularly virulent during the winter months of 2014, between 5,000 and 6,000 cases were reported per week during the peak of the epidemic of influenza, the virus has benefited from a dry climate and cold to spread within the population and settle permanently in the country.
 
The Mauritian authorities have thus placed orders this year to around 9.28 million rupees * of flu vaccine in preparation for the vaccination campaign.
