Mauritius: 840 million rupees recovered by the Mauritian tax authorities
The Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) of taxes in Mauritius has proceeded these past weeks to some 366 investigations to track down defaulters.

Some forty real-estate promoters, a score of entrepreneur, gambling machine operators and several textile society among others had been targeted by these thorough investigations of their accounting and which has brought back to the Mauritian taxes authorities some 840 million rupees* to depose in the State treasury.
 
Gambling machine operators who operates illegally without a statutory license thus had to pay some 500 million rupees to settle their taxes, as reported in the Le Matinal newspaper.
 
As a reminder, in 2013 the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) has registered 61.7 billion rupees of fiscal tax resources against 58 billions in 2012 and 53 billions in 2011.
