Mauritius: 3,000 cases of viral conjunctivitis recorded since the beginning of 2015




Since the beginning of 2015, the number of cases of viral conjunctivitis * registered in Mauritius is alarming. Some 3,000 cases have thus been treated in hospitals. 1 to 5 February, 615 cases have been particularly listed.
 
The Mauritian Ministry of Health thus calls the Mauritian population to wash their hands regularly, not rub eyes with unwashed hands and use personal towels.
 
Contagious disease, but most often benign, conjunctivitis is treated within a few days of medication treatment.
