Mauritius: 215 million dollars invested in India over three years in the textile sector
Investments of the order of 215 million dollars from Mauritius destined for the textile sector in the Great Peninsula were recorded in India between 2011 and 2014 in terms of foreign direct investment.
 
These investments constitute almost half of the total amount of foreign direct investment made by India for its textile sector, as reported in the Le Défi Quotidien newspaper.
 
As a reminder, financial investment of 2.28 billion dollars from Mauritius took the direction of the India in May 2014 according to the latest figures provided by the Indian Agency of the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion.
 
The sectors having drained in their wake of foreign direct investment are telecommunications, the pharmaceutical industry and the construction sector.
