Mauritius: 20,000 jobs on the island in the context of the second Cybercity




While the Prime Minister of India on an official visit to the island on March 12 announced that the Great Indian Peninsula is going to help Mauritius to build one second Cybercity, the ICT Minister Jugnauth, assured this Thursday, March 19 that 20,000 jobs in the sector would emerge along with this flagship project.
 
The minister also wants to make Mauritius an island connected to broadband and has put forward that within five years the speed of connection of the Internet will be 100 megabits in Mauritian households.
 
In addition, at the end of April, the network connection speed will be enhanced for users and many places in the island will be served free of charge by Wifi before the end of 2015.
