Madagascar: more than 30 Malagasy workers missing in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia
While the testimony of Malagasy workers working in Kuwait or Saudi Arabia and known a real ordeal some tortured and exploited in inhumane conditions are multiplying, the Union graduate professionals in the health and social sector (SPDTS) today is sounding the alarm on the disappearance of thirty of Malagasy employed in these two countries in the Middle East.

"The problem arises especially when employers confiscate papers. Due to abuse, they run away, paperless and are stop, without anyone. It is difficult to contact their employers because the majority of domestic workers do not even know the name of their employer", said Muhammad Jeannoda, President of the SPDTS to the newspaper L'Express of Madagascar.

As a reminder, despite the official ban on the sending Malagasy workers in the Gulf countries, thousands of women jostling to soar towards what they believe to be an Eldorado, with often pocket a contract of employment of domestic help.
