Madagascar is ranked second worldwide for its rich biodiversity

Madagascar is the second largest in the world for its rich biodiversity announced the Secretary General of the Ministry of Environment, Marcellin Rabenantoandro on Tuesday. An announcement made during a validation workshop for the National Strategy for Information and Environmental Communication for Sustainable Development (SNICEDD), which was held at OLEP in Ambatobe.

Despite this high ranking, the country also suffers from massive destruction of fauna habitat for years. The illegal export of precious woods and bush fires have also contributed to the deterioration of the environment.

To fight against this, a National Strategy for Information and Environmental Communication for sustainable development has been required during this validation workshop.

Note that tourists visit Madagascar mainly for discovering its exceptional biodiversity.
