Madagascar: asset declarations for police officers to fight against corruption

The commander of the gendarmerie in Madagascar, General Richard Ravalomanana, accompanied by several senior officers, came to give the independent anti-corruption Office (BIANCO) 400 forms of declaration of assets of commanding officers.
 
A disposition which is now mandatory by decree to fight against corruption in Madagascar which gangrene all the administrative machinery of the country.
 
The BIANCO was founded in October 2004 to track the fraud that spreads its tentacles in particular within the gendarmerie Madagascar.
 
The BIANCO in its report dated 30 October pointed the finger at the gendarmerie of the Big Island and some of their corrupt elements, which however was supposed to be guarantors of the rule of law in Madagascar.
