Madagascar: Violent clashes between students and riot police on the campus of Tananarive
A student demonstration of higher Polytechnic School of Vontovorona who demanded payment of three months' arrears of grants has turned yesterday Monday to a confrontation with the police on the campus of Ankatso at Tananarive.

The students arrived on campus attempted to disrupt University courses to hear their demands to the authorities.

Riot police were quickly dispatched on-site to reduce public order and hosted under a rain of stones and had to use tear gas to disperse the student demonstration.

Five troublemakers were arrested during the operation of law enforcement.

In the wake of this wave of discontent, the Minister of higher education announced the release of the funds by Wednesday for the payment of two months of scholarships to students who still require all of their arrears on their side, as newspaper the Express of Madagascar relates.
