Madagascar: Unauthorized use of drones punishable with imprisonment in the Island




Since 16 March, the unauthorized use of drones in the skies of Madagascar is subject to 5 years to 10 years imprisonment. The sentence is accompanied by a fine of 10,000,000 ariary to * 20,000,000 ariary.
 
The competent authorities took this decision for safe choices of the Malagasy airspace "and in in the interest of the public," they say.
 
The Director General of Civil Aviation of Madagascar is the only person entitled to empower the flying of drones in the Island. Applications must be received five days prior to the date to the use of unmanned air vehicles.
