Madagascar: The presidential candidate, Jean Lahiniriko, narrowly escaped death after his house was attacked by rioters
The labeled independent candidate in the presidential election of July next and board member of the Transition (CST), Jean Lahiniriko, suffered Saturday afternoon, a mob which attacked his house .

Rioters also nearly lynched the politician and his family, who had taken refuge in a room in his house in the area of Ambaniala Itaosy in Tananarive.

Many valuables and appliances were stolen. The windows of several official vehicles that were in the yard were broken.
The cause of this outburst of violence against Jean Lahiniriko would be the death of a passerby a few hours earlier.

For rioters, the bodyguards of Jean Lahiniriko are involved in this deadly knife attack.
 
For his part, Jean Lahiniriko cries political conspiracy hatched against him to eliminate him physically and aimed to postpone the election on July 24.
 
As the death of a candidate is a case of force majeure for the Malagasy electoral law that automatically result in the postponement of the elections.
