Madagascar: The poultry industry in sustained growth of 10% since five years
The poultry industry of Madagascar has experienced a growth of approximately 10% over the past five years, and despite the situation political and economic that prevailed during the regime of the Transition.
 
This is what spring on Wednesday of a conference-debate organised on three days in Ankatso (Tananarive) by the leader of the market, the Group Avitech-Farmshop-LFL.
 
Another fact discussed by professionals in the sector, the first week of the application of the 20% VAT on the importation of chick to a day that has resulted in a reduction of 25% on sales according to the group Avitech-Farmshop-LFL.
 
As a reminder, according to the latest figures from the United Nations food and agriculture Organisation (FAO) the poultry Madagascar industry totals around 35 million poultry, including 86% of the production comes from the villages of the island.
 
The poultry industry generates a turnover estimated at more than 100 million dollars each year that benefits mostly to small farmers in the rural world.
