Madagascar: The port of Tamatave soon at storage saturation
The Port of Tamatave in the East of Madagascar is in saturation. 100,000 containers are stored inside the port.

The level of tolerance is close and a period of several months is announced by the players in the sector before saturation.

According to officials of the Port of Tamatave, 18,000 containers can still be handled on area before the possible blocking of the site term.

To avoid this assumption, extension work will be carried out this year on 8 hectares of land still not operated and owned by the port area.

Tamatave port will then accommodate 150,000 containers. The purpose of this operation is to achieve the handling by 2020, with 426,000 containers on the new storage area.
