Madagascar: The port of Tamatave in expansion and dragage




The port of Toamasina in the East of Madagascar, is currently in full expansion work to respond to the increase in maritime traffic in the Indian Ocean region.
 
The construction of a new storage area of 8 hectares for container berth, and which is expected to increase the maximum capacity to area to be approximately 360,000 containers, will soon be completed on site.
 
The company of the autonomous management of Tamatave Port also hired dredging with a draught up to 14 meters, so that large vessels can be accommodated.
 
Sea embankments are also scheduled in the wake of a new container terminal built thanks to financial assistance from the Japanese Government, as reported by the newspaper Les Nouvelles of the Madagascar.
