Madagascar: The official candidate of the TGV, Edgard Razafindravahy, withdraws after the surprise nomination of Andry Rajoelina

Edgard Razafindravahy mayor of Antananarivo expressed to the Special Electoral Court (CES) the withdrawal of the first round of presidential elections in Madagascar on 24 July.
 
Edgard Razafindravahy had been chosen nevertheless, in early April, by the TGV party of the current President of the Transition, Andry Rajoelina, when the latter was initially given to seek the highest office in his country.
 
But after the surprise nomination of Andry Rajoelina and justified by the principal party to counter applications, among others, Lalao Ravalomanana and Didier Ratsiraka, Edgard Razafindravahy preferred throw in the towel, seeing his chances of being elected reduced to nothing, as related by Madagascar-tribune.com.
