Madagascar: The new President, Hery Rajaonarimampianina, soon moving to the United Nations in New York




The new Malagasy president, Hery Rajaonarimampianina, who should appoint the Prime Minister before Friday after several weeks of reflection, will be soon moving to the headquarters of the United Nations for a head to head interview with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon.
 
A meeting which will focus on the economic development of the island in the wake of possible funding of the UN bodies for the rehabilitation of the railway line between Fianarantsoa and Manakara and infrastructure of the port of Manakara.
 
Hery Rajaonarimampianina should also meet the Director General of the international monetary fund, Christine Lagarde, to obtain financial support from the Agency, before going to the headquarters of the European Union in Brussels, one of the major donors of Madagascar, as reported by the Madagascar Tribune newspaper.
