Madagascar: The mandatory asset declaration by for ministers and the deputies still struggling to be filled in




Only 9 members of the Malagasy government on 30 and 38 out of the 151 deputies sitting in the National Assembly have already submitted by Wednesday 1 April 2015 their statements to the High Constitutional Court of Madagascar.
 
 These assets declarations deposits are yet compulsory under the Article 41 of the Constitution of the Fourth Republic in its paragraph 2, which states that "prior to the performance of duties or engagements and the exercise of a mandate, all persons referred in the preceding paragraph deposit with the High Constitutional Court a declaration of assets. "
 
 The persons concerned are set forth in section 40 of the Constitution, which reminds that "the institutions of the state are: the President of the Republic and the Government, the National Assembly and the Senate, the High Constitutional Court."
 
 As a reminder, the president Hery Rajaonarimampianina has already completed his asset declaration deposit with the High Constitutional Court in November 2014.
