Madagascar: The army deviates for the moment the possibility of a military directorate

Senior military officers signed a request to the Special Electoral Commission (ESC) for the postponement of the first round of the presidential elections of 24 July for cases of force majeure, reject for now the assumption of implementation of the establishment of a military directorate, while the Malagasy political scene is still full indecision on the actual Election Day in Madagascar.

"I never heard a discussion for the establishment of a military directorate", said General Andre Ndriarijaona, Chief of the General Staff of the Army (Cemgam) at lexpressmada.com.

Before recognizing the end of the lips as this event, predictable also by Nagesh Raba­ri­soa, Chairman of the military Committee of national defense.
 
"It depends on all of us. Everything is not totally blocked and politicians are still looking for a solution, as is the case of the conclave initiated by several transitional institutions ... It is not out of fear that we does not move on this issue, but as a precaution", argues General Andre Ndriarijaona, Chief of the General Staff of the army.
