Madagascar: The United States lift all restrictions help towards Madagascar

The U.S. government has decided to lift on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 all restrictions covering support to Madagascar, according to the spokesman of the State Department, Jen Psaki with a position relayed the following day by the Embassy United States to Madagascar on its website.

"Given the good conduct of elections in Madagascar in 2013 and the installation of a new Government at the beginning of this year, the United States lifted all remaining restrictions on direct aid to the Government of Madagascar", indicate the United States authorities.

"As the African Union has lifted the suspension of Madagascar as a member, and we lifted all remaining restrictions on direct aid, the United States invite the president of Madagascar Hery Rajaonarimampianina to attend the Summit of African leaders in the United States", repotrs again the official release on the site of the American Embassy in Madagascar.

As a reminder, the United States remains as one of the most important partners of the island in the field of humanitarian aid, with more than 55 million dollars available in 2013 to food safety and public health programs.
