The Prime Minister of the Transition, Omer Beriziky called for Nosy Be the forces to fight strongly against the prostitution rings who sexually exploit children in Madagascar and blasted the excuse of poverty too often widespread to justify the phenomenon that plagues the Big Island for years, as indicated by the newspaper L'Express of Madagascar.

"Poverty can never be an excuse for the sexual exploitation of children for commercial purposes which mortgage their future. Children are the foundation on which future of the nation rests", he said at the end of last week at the invitation of UN organizations that debated on this topic.

As a reminder, Najat Maalla M'jid Special reporter of the United Nations against the exploitation of children is currently in Madagascar until July 26 to investigate the ground and decipher the various workings leading to sexual exploitation of minors in Madagascar.

Najat Maalla M'jid will then share her preliminary analysis with the Malagasy government on a comprehensive inventory of child prostitution in the Big Island, before turning her observations and conclusions in a comprehensive report presented in March 2014 at the Human Rights Council Rights of the UN.
