Madagascar: The President Hery Rajaonarimampianina present in France to the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the D-day allied in Normandy




The Malagasy president Hery Rajaonarimampianina will participate tomorrow Friday in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the allied landings in Normandy on 6 June 1944, which precipitated the fall of the Third Reich in Germany and the Nazi regime.
 
Invited by François Holland, Hery Rajaonarimampianina will be present alongside some 20 heads of State and Government, including Barack Obama, Angela Merkel, and Vladimir Poutine, as reported by the Midi Madagasikara newspaper.
 
Some 1,800 veterans are also expected.
 
The international ceremony will take place at 3 p.m. on the beach at Ouistreham, called Sword Beach, the day of the landing of the Allies. 28 845 British soldiers and 177 French are landed June 6, 1944.
 
The official luncheon hosted by the president of the Republic, François Holland, will be served at 12:15 at the Château de Bénouville, between Caen and Ouistreham to various heads of delegations and veterans.
