Madagascar: The Plague resulted in 2 fatalities in the province of Tananarive




While the heat of the southern summer high temperatures and rainy season have reappeared, an outbreak of bubonic plague infection was located by the sanitary authorities of Madagascar in Faratsiho district located in the southern part of the province of Tananarive in the heart of the Vakinankaratra region.

A dozen cases were thus listed in the district of Faratsiho and two deaths are to be deplored, as indicated by the tananews.com site.
 
For reminder, 256 cases of bubonic plague and 60 deaths were recorded last year.
 
Bubonic plague or 'black death’ thus knows a strong boost from the month of October, with the start of the first heat and humidity that will be highlighting over heavy rainfall of the season.

Nearly one in five infected with the virus dies.
 
The disease specialists are particularly worried about the virulence today of the plague bacillus in Madagascar.
Unsafe and promiscuity of some houses in the heart of poor villages attract rodents in number (black rats) and rat fleas that carry the disease.
