Madagascar: The Island wants to boost its tourism blazon




"To achieve this, we need to provide lots of effort regarding the development of an effective communication to promote the destination", put forward on the side of ONTM. In 2014, about 220,000 tourists visited Madagascar, far from the 400,000 passengers registered in 2009.
 
4 million euro will thus be committed for deploying a huge campaign to promote the Madagascar destination and raise the profile of the Island abroad. A documentary film expected to cost around 300,000 euro budget is also in the cards for boosting the country's image abroad.
 
As a reminder, 255,942 tourists were welcomed to Madagascar in 2012, nearly 29% went to the island of Nosy Be, and around 198,816 visitors traveled to the Island in 2013.

In 2015, the National Tourism Office of Madagascar (ONTM) has set itself the objective of strong growth in tourist arrivals in the Big Island and be between 20% and 25%.
