Madagascar: The French ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasise the return without consultation of the former president Marc Ravalomanana in the island




The French ministry of Foreign Affairs has emphasise on Wednesday on the position supported by the African Union a few hours earlier on the diplomatic plan following the placement at the beginning of the week of the former Malagasy president Marc Ravalomanana, to a house arrest on the side of l'Amirauté in Diego Suarez in northern Madagascar.
 
"France supports the position very clearly expressed today by the African Union, which has condemned the proposals recommended by the former president Ravalomanana after his return to Madagascar without a political agreement nor a consultation. It is for the Malagasy authorities to treat this case in the Malagasy right and in an appease mind and the responsibility which has existed till now, in connection with the relevant regional organisations, the Southern African Development Community, the African Union and the Commission of the Indian Ocean”.
 
The political crisis opened in 2009 has ended with the free and transparent elections oragnised at the end of 2013 in the context of the mediation of the African Union and SADC. . With the partners of the international support group, France supports the efforts of the elected authorities for the development the country.” said the spokesman of the Quai d'Orsay yesterday in a short press on the current political situation in Madagascar.
