Madagascar: The European Union launches an extensive program of support to the Malagasy civil society of 10 million euro over 3 years
After the political crisis that has shaken the country since 2009 on the economic and social plan, the European Union on the eve of the first round of the presidential elections of October 25, by the voice of its Ambassador to Madagascar, Leonidas Tezapsidis, launched Tuesday the "Dinika" program turned to the Malagasy civil society.

The European Union wants to promote a closer approach and engage strategically alongside civil society by improving dialogue and synergy of the actions within the framework of a true partnership between all stakeholders in development in Madagascar.

The "Dinika" program, with funding of nearly 10 million euros (29 billion ariarys) over 3 years, is structured around five strategic pillars:

- Improving governance,

-support for initiatives of the emerging players

-the structuring of the Malagasy civil society organizations,

-citizen culture

-capitalization and dissemination of information through the promotion of good governance at the local and national level and working for greater independence and a Malagasy civil society organizations increased credibility.

The program will be introduced in three pilote regions (Atsimo Andrefana, Analanjirofo and Analamanga) "whose partners are the Malagasy civil society organizations in its diversity: base communities, associations, cooperatives and groups of economic interests, trade unions, federations, platforms ".
